Promotion Test, December 11, 2010
On Saturday December 11,
2010 students of Karate-do Shurenkan participated in a Shinkyu Shinsa
(promotion exam). Students were tested on various aspects of their
karate training including kihon (basics), ido geiko
(moving basics), sabaki (positioning and controlling techniques),
kata (pre-arranged forms), and kumite (sparring).
Congratulations to the following students for demonstrating great
technique and spirit and successfully attaining their newest ranks:

Congratulations to Sensei
Miguel Rios and Sempai Jessica Benesch. The two were married on Sunday
June 27, 2010 at the beautiful Darlington House in San Diego, California
in front of 130 of their closest friends and family members. We would
like to wish the happy couple a lifetime of love and happiness.
New Conditioning Class Kicks Off Wednesday June 2, 2010
Karate-do Shurenkan is happy
to announce that a new class has been added to our schedule. A one hour
fitness class designed to help participants improve their speed,
strength, flexibility, and endurance will be offered every Wednesday at
7 p.m. The workout will be intense and will include a mix of
callisthenic and other bodyweight exercises, resistance training,
plyometric drills, and more. The class will be lead by our very own
Eddie Potter.
Karate-do Shurenkan welcomes its newest member, April 30, 2010
It is with great joy that
Karate-do Shurenkan announces its newest member. On Friday April 30,
2010 Mikaylah Dherae Potter was born to dojo members Eddie and Rhea
Potter. We are happy to report that mommy and baby are both doing well.
No doubt Mikaylah already has Eddie wrapped around her tiny little
finger, but I'm sure he wouldn't want it any other way. Congratulations
guys! It could not have happened to a nicer couple.
